Getting to know our dental team - An interview with Patient Administration Coordinator Wendy...

Updated: Sep 30, 2024

When did you join the Crossbank Dental Care team?

I have worked at Crossbank Dental Care since January 2021

How has your career developed during your time at Crossbank Dental care?

I started at Crossbank Dental Care to cover maternity leave and I was then fully employed on a part-time basis as a member of the Front of House Team. At the end of 2023 I was asked to take on the roll of Patient Coordination Administrator.

What aspects of your role do you find most fulfilling?

Speaking to patients and making them feel special and “heard”. Also, drafting a treatment proposal correctly, and efficiently, for our patients.

Can you describe a typical day at work for you?

I arrive at the practice for 8.20am and get everything ready for a 8.30am start.  I make sure questions are ready for the teams morning huddle and check voicemails for any patient cancellations. Throughout the day I deal with patient enquiries, check the waiting list for any patients we may be able to see sooner, type up any clinical dictation and updates for our referring Dentists, along with drafting selected treatment proposals required for our patients.

If you had to swap jobs for one day in the practice, which job would you swap and why?

I would swap with a General Treatment Coordinator in order to use the Intra Oral Scanner, showing our patients their current dental situation and then discuss their needs and wishes during their consultation. I would also love to do cosmetic dentistry as I would love to see and be part of improving smiles.
