The Crossbank culture
We are conscious that consistency in care is essential to assist growth and development and improve living conditions for all. Our chosen charity is ‘Bridge2Aid’, which we have supported for many years and are now a “Gold Unity partner”. We have had fun raising funds over the years for Bridge2Aid, happy that our fun is helping sponsor the training of Health Workers in emergency dental care in developing nations.
We support local businesses, including designing and producing our marketing materials, advertising at the Brewery Arts Centre through to buying gifts for our team and referring clinicians from local artisan businesses.
We are always keen to develop links with local schools to encourage healthy dental habits at early ages. Our ‘Tooth Fairy’ visits local schools to help provide dental health education for children.
Dentistry from a
team who truly care
Dedicated to creating and protecting beautiful smiles
“Care” is part of our name and is embedded in our culture. Our care for our patients is at the centre of our practice, embraces our team and also extends to the wider world.
Our practice is dedicated to creating and protecting beautiful smiles; we know how to improve your quality of life through an increased confidence in your smile or your ability to chew comfortably.
Our Green Initiatives
Whilst on holiday in 2005, Neil read the book 'Let My People Go Surfing' by Yvon Chouinard, climbing pioneer and owner of Patagonia Inc. He was inspired to look carefully at the waste that our business was creating and on returning he discussed with the team his feelings about the impact the business was having on the environment. We examined every area of our business to ensure we were doing our utmost to tread gently on our planet, from switching to bamboo toilet roll to reducing clinical waste with state-of-the-art intra-oral scanners.
We quickly instigated re-cycling programs for all our cardboard (even a small business like ours can receive up to half a dozen boxes per day!), plastic and paper.
All our stationary began to be printed on 75% recycled stock (paper needs some virgin fibre to hold it together - but this was from FSC sources), using Chlorine-free inks.
Our referral packs we send to other dentists are made from non-laminated, non-glued art board so these can be recycled easily. Even our branded carrier bags are now made from biodegradable plastic.
We are currently working with Green Impact in order to practice and promote sustainable dentistry as a practice.
The Colgate® Oral Care Recycling Programme
Crossbank is pleased to participate in The Colgate® Oral Care Recycling Programme. We also work with local schools to promote recycling dental waste. Recently it was exciting to be approached by a boarding school to collect all their dental waste products!
You can drop-off all of your oral care products and packaging into the special waste bin in our reception, even if you are not a patient.
Every year countless pieces of oral care products and packaging end up in landfill sites across the UK. We are working with TerraCycle® to put an end to this enormous loss of resources. Not only are you helping the environment, but the waste you recycle with us also helps to fund our local primary school.
